Yes, you can buy them at many packing supply stores, but they can cost a few bucks each and this tends to add up rather quickly. However, if you know where to look, you can get as many boxes as you want free of charge.

The first place that you should look for free moving boxes is at your local grocery store. Simply go to the customer service counter and ask if they have any boxes that you could have for your move. If there are any boxes in the back of the store, they will more than likely be yours for the taking as most stores only put them in a recycling dumpster anyway.

Another place that has a lot of unused boxes is a liquor store. A lot of the liquor that comes in will come in big boxes and many liquor stores get daily deliveries. So, you can easily acquire a few boxes a day for a few days in a row and before you know it you will have plenty of boxes for your move. Of course, it will look like you are smuggling moonshine, but hey, they are free.

You can also look online for free moving boxes. Many online classified websites, l like Craigslist, have a free section and you can browse and almost always find someone giving away the boxes that they just used to complete their move.

So, you will have to spend money on your upcoming move, but you don’t have to spend money on your moving boxes. You simply have to take a little time and put forth a little effort to ensure your moving box cost is nothing.
